Site blocks can be set to pull assets by role rather than by a fixed selection. This means the block always shows whichever assets currently hold that role — and when a site is auto-created from a form submission, the blocks are already populated.
Configure a block to use a role
In the site editor, select a block that displays assets — such as an image grid or color palette — and open its settings in the right sidebar. Look for the Asset source or Role option and choose a role from the list.
Once set, the block filters the board's assets to show only those tagged with that role.
How automatic site creation works
When a form is submitted with roles attached to its questions, Baseline:
- Tags the uploaded assets with the configured roles.
- Creates a draft site from the template attached to the form.
- Fills in each block using the role it is configured to show.
The result is a ready-to-review site with the client's logos, colors, and fonts already in the right places.
Swapping assets later
Because blocks resolve by role rather than by a fixed asset ID, you can swap the underlying asset at any time. Remove the role from the old asset, assign it to the new one, and the block updates without you touching the site layout.
