Understanding roles

Roles control what each person can do in your workspace. Baseline has three roles: Admin, Editor, and Commenter.

Admin

Admins can do everything Editors can, plus manage the workspace itself: invite and remove members, change roles, edit workspace settings, manage billing, and delete the workspace.

Editor

Editors can create and edit content: upload assets, create and organize boards, edit tags and custom fields, manage versions, publish sites, create share links, and invite board guests. They can also comment.

Commenter

Commenters can view content and leave comments and annotations. They cannot upload, edit assets, create boards, or manage members.

Board guests

Guest is not a separate role. It is a type of access scoped to a single board and its sub-boards. When you invite a guest, you assign them the Editor or Commenter role for that board only. Guests do not see the rest of the workspace.
